In Memoriam
Leach and Robinson Remembered
The Board lost two key members in 2009: Dr. Rex Leach and Conrad Robinson.
Both were very involved from the Foundation’s inception and both played key roles in its ultimate growth and success.
Rex’s strength was fundraising.
He was the first treasurer and spent countless volunteer hours setting up the initial program... which is still used today.
He also took the message of the Foundation’s work out into the community, encouraging people to become involved.
Conrad Robinson brought his expertise to the granting committee.
He steered them through the ups and downs, determining the merit of the different applications and who should get money.
This was no mean chore when people from all over the valley were asking for financial support,
but Con had the knack to make things run smoothly.
